for the Museum Penzberg – Sammlung Campendonk
Beginning in 1911, Heinrich Campendonk (1889–1957), like many of the Blauer Reiter colleagues, experimented with the fascinating technique of reverse glass painting, with which he achieved glowing colours and a very special depth of light. Within the framework of an interdisciplinary research project, art historical, art technological and material-related studies were conducted, resulting in a well-founded, richly illustrated catalogue of more than seventy reverse glass paintings.
